Biography
Dr David Bürgin is a developmental health psychologist and resilience researcher. He works as a Senior Research Associate at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Research Department, University Psychiatric Hospital Basel. He is a psychologist (MSc) with a major in clinical psychology and neuroscience and holds a PhD in Clinical Research from the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel. His research focuses on the biological, psychosocial and socioecological embeddings and sequalae of child maltreatment and stressors, particularly their impact on mental health and social participation in adolescence and young adulthood. With his work, he aims to inform and guide efforts and policies that enable young people to thrive amid adversity.
