Biography
Prof. Dr. Reinout Wiers is Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the University of Amsterdam, where he leads the Addiction Development and Psychopathology (ADAPT) Lab and co-directs the Centre for Urban Mental Health. Internationally recognized for his work on implicit cognitive processes in addiction, he has published over 400 scientific papers and is senior editor of the journal Addiction. His current research focuses on neurocognitive mechanisms in addiction, urban and student mental health, and the development of scalable, theory-driven interventions—such as ABC training and personalized symptom networks. He also co-leads digital mental health initiatives including UvAcare and Caring Universities.
