Biography
Dr. Daniel Shaw is Distinguished Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Pittsburgh where he also serves as Director of the Center for Parents and Children and the Pitt Parents and Children Laboratory. He Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. Since receiving his Ph.D. in child clinical and developmental psychology from the University of Virginia in 1988, his primary interest has been studying the development and prevention of early problem behavior among at-risk children, with a particular focus on the development and disseminations of programs to support parent-child relational health in early childhood. With over 500 publications, Dr. Shaw also has been consistently funded by the NIH in the US since 1991 and currently co-directs five NIH-funded, longitudinal studies investigating the early antecedents and prevention of childhood conduct problems and substance use. He has served on numerous review panels of national funding agencies and editorial boards of journals, including his current position as Editor of JCPP's Annual Research Review.
