Biography
Dr. Harm Krugers is Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Amsterdam and Co-Director of the Centre for Urban Mental Health. His research focuses on how early-life stress and emotional experiences shape cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and perception, and their role in mental health and resilience. He is particularly interested in identifying mechanisms and interventions—ranging from pharmacological to lifestyle-based—to prevent and treat stress-related psychopathology. Dr. Krugers also coordinates the Behavioral Neuroscience track in the Research Master in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and is active in international scientific leadership, including his role as Treasurer for FENS-Trust.
