Specific Learning Difficulties

Children with specific learning difficulties are at higher risk of developing mental health problems compared to their peers without SLDs. Many experience behavioural and emotional issues, ranging from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (the most common) to depression and anxiety. Additionally, the co-occurrence of mental health problems can further exacerbate academic difficulties, highlighting the need for comprehensive and holistic treatment approaches that address both learning and mental health needs.
